I'd heard that there was going to be three more issues of the Serenity Comic. I'm surprised that they are only doing 3 covers. The first sold so well because lots of people bought 3 copies of each issue. But perhaps the popularity and knowledge of them has increased enough. I hope so.

I've just seen posted recently that we were on the right track. Adam Hughes will be doing three covers, and all three, when put together will make one picture. Just as he told us. I just hope that the pose we did for "Better Days" makes it on the cover. Cause, trust me...it was really, really cool sounding.

Myth confirmed!

After speaking with Mr. Hughes at the con again, not only has "Better Days" been given the greenlight, but issue #3 will seem familiar. At least it will to ThatWeirdGirl and myself.

I can't speak for TWG, but aside from seeing old friends, Adam and Allison were the best part of the con for me.

We took their picture this year instead of them taking ours. It was great. Allison bought an AbbeyShot Browncoat and wore it in the pic. She also borrowed Indian Jones's revolver to complete the look. Now, they said they bought the coat for reference in drawing, but they wanted it. You could tell by how they looked at it.

They are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. In fact, all the comic artists we met this year were very friendly and talkative. It looks like a great industry.

This would be the cover we posed for, and damn it...that is the exact pose he took our picture of! As I type this, I'm still floored that TWG and myself were the subjects of a Serenity cover by Adam Hughes! I wrote the man recently, and he sent me some high res pictures from the first cover. I would have called them scans, and then I realized he was sending us details from the finished work itself!

It's not quite what he told us it'd be, but I got the feeling that he was rushed to complete the third cover for solicitations sake, because apparently Dark Horse isn't showing the second cover yet. Of course I'm taking other people's words at this.

But...there it is...Years of speculation over. You know, I'm relieved. Really.

No. Adam took the pictures with his camera. He had us do three or four variations on that pose. Kaylee being dirty mechanic holding tightly to clean aloof Simon. We were wearing our Kaylee and Simon costumes at the time (2006 D*C). The way the lights hitting clothing folds and such is how it hit us. I remember him telling me to look up at 'Simon' happily and a little longingly and telling Bryan to not smile and look sort of off camera.

I had a short email convo with Adam Hughes this afternoon and this is what he said, "Anyone who doesn't believe you about posing can come to me, I'll straighten their monkey asses out!" ha! He really is nice. you guys should stop by his table next time just to say hi.

Anyone else notice that Kaylee is wearing my costume not any of the official outfits jewel wore? We are proud dorks today!
